Yoga for Youth

Date: Thursday, October 26, 2017 Time: 05:30pm-07:30pm

The goal of this project/class is to improve the well-being of foster and adopted youth by equipping them with practical skills to reduce anxiety and stress through yoga, meditation and mindfulness training.  Through heightened body awareness and promotion of self-regulation techniques, our project seeks to give youth lifelong tools and empower them to improve their overall health and wellness.  This project is funded by the Health Endowment Fund and will require participants and caregivers to fill out a short pre and post survey before and after the completion of the class, and again at 6 month and a year from the conclusion of the class to evaluate the project.

Additionally, caregivers are asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 20th  from 6:30-7:30 PM to learn more about how to support youth at home with the skills they will learn and to ask questions.

**Classes are FREE of charge and will take place on Thursday evenings, from September 28th thru November 2nd (6 consecutive weeks for one hour)  We ask that caregivers make every effort for the youth to attend each class to achieve the maximum benefit.
