Children Waiting for their Forever Family
These children have been selected for this program because of the following:

• They are healthy older children (usually 6-8 years and older)
• They have special medical needs (please refer to the special needs glossary at the end of this guide for the most common medical conditions of waiting children)
• They are part of a sibling group of two or more*

There are children from other countries in this program as well as Michigan children. Hands Across The Water's Children Waiting are the children who are the most in need.

PLEASE remember that a completed home study is the minimum that is required to be matched with a waiting child. Additional completed documentation will be required depending on the country or state requirements. SO . . . don't set your heart on one of these children without thorough discussion with one of our agency's adoption specialists.
